Mission
The Veterans Health and Wellness Foundation serves Veterans, military families, and their communities nationwide building the educational programs, navigational support, resource networks, and policy solutions that address the full complexity of Veteran health and well-being.

Vision
A nation where every Veteran is seen, supported, and empowered where no service member returns home only to navigate their health and well-being alone, and where the communities, systems, and policies that surround them are strong enough, informed enough, and connected enough to meet them exactly where they are.
Education
The VHWF Education Impact Program helps healthcare professionals better understand the unique health conditions and life experiences associated with military service.
We develop and deliver training programs for healthcare students, practicing professionals, community organizations, and Veteran families. These programs address topics such as military culture, service-related health conditions, environmental exposures, and the long-term health impacts of military service.
By improving awareness and knowledge across the healthcare system, VHWF helps ensure Veterans receive the informed, compassionate care they deserve.

Benefits Navigation
Transitioning from active service to Veteran status can be complex—especially for individuals managing injuries, illnesses, or conditions connected to their service.
The VA claims process is often difficult to navigate without support.
Through the VHWF VA Navigator Assistance Program (VA NAP), we connect Veterans and their families with knowledgeable representatives who guide them through the process step-by-step. Our goal is to make the system easier to understand and ensure Veterans feel confident and supported while accessing the benefits they have earned.
No Veteran should have to face this process alone.
Resource Connection
Health and wellness extend beyond medical care. Veterans and their families often need support across many areas of life—from healthcare and housing to employment and community connection.
The Veteran Medical Neighborhood Consortium ("The Neighborhood") is VHWF’s initiative designed to connect Veterans with organizations, businesses, and community services that understand and support the Veteran experience.
VHWF acts as a central hub where Veterans can discover trusted resources that address multiple aspects of well-being. Instead of navigating isolated programs individually, Veterans gain access to a connected network designed to support the whole person.
Because true wellness includes every part of life.

Advocacy and Policy
VHWF is actively engaged in legislative and policy advocacy to drive systemic change in how Veterans are served. The Foundation's advocacy efforts include the Matthew FAST Act, Virginia House Bill 1504 (HB1504), and the AMA Resolution on Military Culture Competency, all championed to close gaps in Veteran care and make military health history-taking a standard practice.
