You served. Now let us serve you.

Women Veterans are the fastest-growing and most underserved Veteran population in America. This page exists because you deserve more than a hotline. You deserve a community, a care team, and a clear path forward — regardless of where you are in your journey.

You

Are not alone. We built this for you.

THE CHALLENGE

We're not waiting for the system to catch up.
We're changing it.

40% of women Veterans don't tell their doctor they served. Often, no one asks. That single missing question means service-connected conditions go unrecognized, benefits go unclaimed, and women who earned care don't receive it.

VHWF helped change that - in law.

MARYLAND • SIGNED 2025

SFC Matthew Fast Act

Every healthcare facility in Maryland must ask and document

military service status.

VIRGINIA ENACTED • 2025

HB 1504

Same requirement: protecting hundreds of thousands of

Virginia veterans.

AMA • NOVEMBER 2025

AMA HOD Resolution

270,000+ physicians directed to standardize military service

screening nationally.

The next time a woman veteran walks into a Maryland or Virginia clinic, the system is legally required to see her. That is VHWF's work-and it is not finished. We are bringing this model to all 50 states.

IMMEDIATE HELP

Crisis & Immediate Safety

If you are in crisis, unsafe, or experiencing a mental health emergency — these are the lines designed for you. You do not need to be enrolled in VA benefits. You do not need to have reported anything. You just need to reach out.

You don't need to have it figured out to call

You don't need to be in danger. You don't need to know exactly what you're feeling. You don't need to have reported something that happened. These lines exist for the full spectrum — from "I'm not okay" to "I need help right now." All calls are free and confidential.

MILITARY SEXUAL TRAUMA

MST Support: What You're Entitled to — and How to Get It

Military Sexual Trauma affects approximately 1 in 4 women Veterans. You are not required to have reported it during service. You are not required to prove it happened. The VA is required by law to provide care — and VHWF is here to help you access it without having to fight for it alone.

You Are Legally Entitled to This Care

Under federal law, every VA medical center must provide free, specialized MST-related treatment to any Veteran who experienced MST — regardless of discharge status, service record, or whether the MST was officially reported. You do not need a disability rating. You do not need to file a claim first.

VA · REQUIRED AT EVERY FACILITY

Your VA MST Coordinator

Every VA facility must have a designated MST Coordinator. They help you access care without re-explaining your history at every turn.
